News: "Nothing is true" except for an Assassin’s Creed Board Game

 Assassin's Creed Arena board game
Cryptozoic have announced the release of Assassin’s Creed: Arena, a multiplayer board game based on the Assassin’s Creed video games and yes we called it.

Taking its cue from the multiplayer aspect of the Assassin’s Creed series, you take the role of a Templar working for Abstergo Industries who is using the animus to take control of a historical figure in the city of Constantinople. Players leap from rooftop to rooftop avoiding guards, collecting treasures and assassinating targets. The rules are available to view online and the game looks easy to learn, lets hope there is enough depth to the card based combat and the multiple scenarios to make this game a more meatier prospect that it first appears.

Have Cryptozoic missed the boat with this release? Have they in fact missed two boats? Arena is based on Assassin’s Creed Revelations, which was released over two years ago and we’ve had two very successful Assassin’s Creed video games since. Is there still enough love for the 16th century Constantinople setting or have players moved on?

Assassin’s Creed Arena will be released the end of February and is available for pre-order from the Cryptozoic Store and just like video games has a cheeky pre-order bonus of a Hookblade promo card.
