Thank You for 100,000 pageviews!

text

I wanted to offer a big thank you to everyone who has visited Polyhedron Collider. I should be thanking you more often but today is a bit more special. A year ago I set myself a modest goal to try and expand the blog further, and set myself a target of achieving 100,000 page views in 2015. It’s a not a big goal, other gaming websites do this kind of audience in their sleep (The Dice Tower just announced 100,000 views in a day!) but for me this was a significant increase on last year’s numbers and I wanted to offer a big thank you for making that possible.

While I’m looking back at figures it also gives the opportunity for a little navel gazing. It’s been a bit of an odd year for the blog, a change in day job has changed how I approach writing content and so there has been a bit of a change to what kind of article go up.

So the question no one is probably asking is what everyone actually came here to read, well these are the top five pages visited this year:

  1. Star Wars The Force Awakens X-Wing Core Set Leaked
  2. Did Star Wars Armada leak X-Wing Wave 7?
  3. How much does Warhammer 40k and other tabletop games cost?
  4. X-Wing Wave 7 Leaked
  5. Warhammer 40,000 Conquest Review
So to sum it up, everyone loves Star Wars, who would have known? The bizarre entry on this list is my article from 2012 about the cost of Warhammer 40,000, its well out of date and desperately in need of a new look, especially as Kings of War has been released and the death of Warhammer Fantasy Battles.

But what about reviews? The original aim of Polyhedron Collider was as a review site, and they still make up the large majority of the content, as we’ve already seen they aren’t the most popular. Here are the reviews that gained the most page views in 2015.
  1. Warhammer 40,000 Conquest Review
  2. Relic Review
  3. Star Wars Imperial Assault Review
  4. Star Wars Armada Review
  5. Armello Review
Yet again Star Wars comes up trumps, closely followed by Warhammer 40,000. I must admit to not getting my Forbidden Stars review completed in a timely fashion but I just haven’t played the game enough to cement my opinion. I’m also wondering whether I should be buying the Star Wars LCG just to write a review for it.

Again than you for visiting this little corner of the internet, and let’s hope 2016 is another great year for tabletop gaming.
