It’s a veritable cornucopia of tabletop gaming chat! Andy’s spending goes unchecked as he buys a brand-new bike and about 14 Kickstarters while Sid gets a bit hot and bothered with Ginny Di’s new calendar. We then have a deep delve into the latest games to hit our table, Destinies from Lucky Duck, Tawantinsuyu from Board & Dice and Coriolis from Free League.
Suspect everyone – I personally think that Andy Lewis chap is a bit dodgy – because we sample brand new Cthulhu hidden traitor game Unfathomable and try and compare it to Dark Moon, and Battlestar Galactica. We then build on the backs of the poor by playing London and look at Asmodee price rises and the announcement of Dungeons and Dragons 6th edition.
Sneaky shenanigans are afoot, as Polyhedron Collider talk about a Blades in the Dark tv show, The Initiative and Burgle Bros 2: The Casino Capers. After a successful heist he explore the latest table top gaming news with a host of Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition content and new Kickstarter, including a review of A Viking’s Tale and a discussion on advent calendars.
Don’t worry, there’s no questions from Phil the Sheep this week!
Fuelled by some budget doughnuts, Andy, Steve and Rory get together for another episode of custard filled gaming chat. Steve is in denial at his lack of strategy in Ankh: Gods of Egypt, Andy grabs a Cornish pasty and heads to the mines in Tinner's Trail, and Rory pleads Game over Man! as we get eaten in Aliens: Another Glorious Day in the Corps.
A Viking’s Tale is a tactical card game for 2 to 4 platers. Gain fame by leading you Norse Clan to glorious victory by defeating wolves, sea monsters, giants, and undead.
In this video review, Steve gives his first impressions of the game.
It’s on Kickstarter now
Getting distracted with episode 100 and the UK Games Expo means we have a tardy, but bumper episode for you. After consuming our own bodyweight in patisseries, we take an in depth looks at Who Goes There, Dune Imperium, and Against the Darkmaster, before delving into the mailbag and answering important questions on wedding attire and our favourite RPG modules..
This last weekend was UK Games Expo 2021. Andy went along and saw a surprising amount of game considering the smaller event.
Five years ago, three geeks walked into a pub, and several fine ales later decided it would be a great idea to start a table top gaming podcast. We've now recorded many episodes of board game and RPG reviews, discussion and ramshackle nonsense.
To celebrate our 100th episode we choose our top ten best board and roleplaying games to review and discuss, and get well wishing messages (kind of) from folks like the Broken Meeple, The Secret Cabal and Who Dares Rolls.
It is an accidental Free League tabletop RPG review special, as we discuss Vaesen, Tales from the Loop, and Forbidden Lands. We also discuss a leap from TTRPG to silver screen, as we discuss the leaked photos from the filming of the Dungeons and Dragons movie.
Board & Dice recently sent us a mystery package which contained a copy of Escape Tales: Children of Wyrmwoods and three beans.
Where they magic beans? Was this a puzzle?
To find out Steve had to grow them.
Good news, we finally talk about board games on this board games podcast! Now that lockdown procedures in England have been ever so slightly loosened, the Polyhedron Collider boys brave the changeable UK weather to try and get some board games played in person. Steve and Sid play unlock Star Wars and get hustled by a four-year-old, while Andy paints us a picture of Canvas while wearing colourful underpants in Iwari.
Its been an odd few weeks. Lockdown may be drawing to an end but we still can't meet up to play games so our exploration of all things tabletop gaming is even more reflective and full of random nonsense than usual. We talk about using an airbrush to paint your miniatures, look at books based on our favourite board games, talk about Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) again and answer questions from the mail bag.
Within deep rabbit hole distractions of burning kettles and humorously shaped biscuits, we discuss a plethora of board game and tabletop roleplaying gaming (TTRPG) news, as well as Kickstarter funding goals. We also take a deeper look at an old favourite of Smallworld, play some escape rooms at home with the EXIT games from Kosmos and explore Arthurian legends in Tainted Grail from Awaken Realms.
Normality is resumed (well apart from the ability to meet up and play games in person) as we return to our regular show format. Andy decides to update us all on his mattress purchasing while we mull over the tabletop gaming news from the last few weeks. We then go a bit more in depth to look at Architects of the West Kingdom and the Forbidden Lands RPG..
Its the beginning of the year, so its time to look forward to following 12 months and the table top games we are hoping to play in 2021. We'll be running down of the board games and table top roleplaying games we are looking forward to playing over the next year, as well as get our listeners to tell us their most anticipated games.
Aliens, bins on fire and memory foam arse prints! It can only be the Polyhedron Collider best game of 2020 podcast! We look back at the last 12 months and pick our favourite games we've played this year as well as some other dubious awards and of course our game of the year.
