Polyhedron Collider Cast Episode 164 - Airecon X, Galactic Cruise, and Horrified Greek Monsters

In Episode 164 of the Polyhedron Collider Cast, the PhC team welcomes back Jon for a lively discussion covering recent gaming events and tabletop gaming reviews. The episode kicks off with Andy reporting from Airecon X, the renowned UK board gaming convention in Harrogate, highlighting the best games he played and the infamous food controversy.

The crew then delves into a review of Galactic Cruise from Dranda Games, suggesting that we may have already found our game of the year (and its only March)! Following this, they confront mythical monsters in Horrified: Greek Monsters, evaluating how this adaptation of the classic horror game integrates legendary creatures from Greek mythology and anachronistic London punks.

We then delve into the mail bag for questions on gaming convention cuisine, rulebooks and what makes a game click.
Polyhedron Collider Episode 163 - SETI, Slay the Spire, Perch, and House of Fado

In this episode of the Polyhedron Collider Cast, the team dives into a mix of science, board games, and digital adventures. We kick things off with a discussion on SETI: Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, exploring the latest big board game from CGE searching the solar system for extraterrestrial intelligence. Shifting gears, we tackle Slay the Spire: The Board Game, a card game translation of the beloved deck-building roguelike, breaking down its strategic depth, replayability, and asking the question what it offers over its digital lineage.

The conversation then moves to Perch a cute but ruthless area control game about flocking birds, and House of Fado, a Gallerist inspired game of enticing punters to your restaurant and promoting musicians.
Polyhedron Collider Episode 162 - My Little Scythe, FlickFleet, Monkey Palace, Cora Quest, In The Footsteps of Darwin, In The Footsteps of Marie Curie

The boys from the Collider have been visiting some tiny conventions and getting lots of games played. First Rory and Sid take us through board games to play with the wee nippers, with Lego building game Monkey Palace, star fighting dexterity game FlickFleet, and miniature Euro game My Little Scythe. Andy then tells us of his exploits in a more sophisticated setting of a Victorian observatory, going through the luxurious tile laying game that is Foundations of Rome. We round off the reviews with some historical themed games with In the Footsteps of Darwin and In the Footsteps of Marie Curie.

Of course the episode ends with questions from the mail bag, where we tackle difficult subjects like tariffs, designer's stinkers and a belting Blind Date question. Its gonna be a lorra lorra laughs..
Polyhedron Collider Episode 161 - Inventors of the South Tigris, Fromage, and Rats of Wistar

In this episode of the Polyhedron Collider Cast, the team dives into the latest board game news, reviews, and some seriously unexpected topics, like geese! Tune in as we discuss playing the Warhammer 40k Space Marine VR experience, review a cheese board of games, and design the Dunelm board game.

We take a deep dive into the strategic and resource-management game Inventors of the South Tigris, asking is it a worthy end to the South Tigris trilogy. We then take a look at Fromage a quirky worker placement game about making cheese. Is it as rich in flavor as it sounds or does it stink like a ripe Stilton? We round off the cheese theme with the Rats of Wistar, is it a bad game, or are Sid and Rory just bad gamers?
